Following his graduation from the University of Maine Orono with a degree in Public Management in 1976, Jon Helmke began his career in the hospitality sector and has held a variety of management positions in hotels such as Comfort Inn, Rockland; Inn by the Sea, Cape Elizabeth; Berkley Hotels, Boston, and Eastland Park Hotel, Portland. At the Eastland Park Hotel he took on the responsibility of bank receivership as well as administration of the multi-million renovation of the property prior to its change of ownership.
His successful role as Controller since the formation of US Hotels’ New England collection of properties has provided him with valuable insight and knowledge of the local trends and commercial culture of the region.
